Miss Emma J & Miss Lauren attended ‘Introduction to Phase 1 Letters & Sounds’ exploring developmentally appropriate activities to support children’s early phonics

Miss Sarah attended a two day ‘Outdoor First Aid’ course at Brockholes Nature reserve.

We had a German work experience student in Nursery and Janet attended a presentation at the Anderton Centre.

Miss Terri attended a SENCO meeting & SEN course.(Special Educational Needs)

Miss Kerry & Miss Lindsay W. attended the first of a 5 day course ‘Leadership and Management’ exploring the role & responsibilities of a leader.

The Wise Owl children have been busy planting carrots, peas, cauliflower & beetroot at the allotment on Slater’s field.

We had our Crocus Walk, which lots of families attended & although it was cold the weather was dry and we had a lovely time together. We have raised over £150 for Bolton Hospice.

Janet has been to the Leisure Centre to see plans for the new building and Health Centre.

We held a parents’ meeting for all children who are due to move into the Busy Bee Room by September this year.

We have had a large tree removed which was obstructing the Brook. This has been sawn up to create lots of seating logs!

We held another Family Forest Fun session – run by Rachael Jepson with various activities including making spinning tops & Elder beads, creating natural art & campfire.

The children have enjoyed visits into the forest looking for frogs & frogspawn, and hoping to spot the weasel & heron.


The Wise Owl room has been re-decorated.
