Several members of staff visited the Childcare Expo in Manchester & attended various seminars & workshops including: Improving provision for outdoor play; Children as leaders of learning; Forest School & transformative education & Little Scientists. Miss Kerry was fortunate to win a fabulous hamper full of Julia Donaldson goodies from BNG Training.


Janet attended a training course on Health & Safety.

Miss Terri attended a SENCO meeting.

Miss Sarah continued her Forest School training at Moss Bank Park.

Miss Tracy was assessed at Nursery by a Forest School Trainer from the Lancashire Wildlife Trust.

Miss Kerry & Miss Lindsay W completed their ‘Leadership and Management’ training exploring the role & responsibilities of a leader.


Some of the staff visited Queensbrook Nursery in Bolton for further inspiration & ideas for the new Nursery.

Forest School sessions continued with the children enjoying Pirate themed activities.


Teachers from various schools have been visiting the Wise Owl children in preparation for staring school in September.

Janet held a Forest School session – sharing practice with staff from other nurseries & schools.

To coincide with the 2016 UEFA European Championship, the children have been taking part in various football themed activities & also experienced meals & traditional foods associated with countries/teams taking part in the Euros.

We had our Sports’ Day and Queen’s 90th birthday tea party.
