About Croft House Nursery

Croft House is a privately-run nursery registered by Ofsted to care for children between the ages of six weeks and five years.  It was opened in the autumn of 1989 in a former family home at the end of Bridge Street, Horwich.  In 2018 we moved just a few metres , to a larger, newly renovated building at the entrance to Bridge Street.  The Nursery receives support from the Bolton Start Well Team.

Croft House Nursery was opened in the autumn of 1989 and is now accommodated in a specially renovated building at the entrance to Bridge Street.  The Nursery receives support from the Bolton Start Well Team.

Croft House Nursery was founded in 1989 by Janet Lomax-Baker B.Ed. (Hons), M.A. (Nursery Management) EYPS, a highly qualified and experienced Early Years Teacher. Today, the nursery is owned and run by her daughter, Joanna Cooke, an experienced Early Years teacher, and her son, Jonny Lomax, Business Manager.

Their differing skills and experience, together with a passion for providing the best for children and their families, make the perfect partnership. The Nursery offers many benefits, including the ability to provide a homely, family-type atmosphere. This has always been one of the main aims of Croft House Nursery.

Croft House is situated in a quiet area of Horwich, close to parkland and therefore ideally suited to children.  This offers great scope for walks, picnics and woodland learning in the area.
